Evolving from physiotherapy to active training
With a strong emphasis on streamlined processes—from patient admission to the automated transition into independent training—MYOKRAFT delivers a holistic, sustainable, and scalable healthcare solution.
Since 2019, EGYM solutions have been an integral part of this journey, enabling MYOKRAFT to provide patients and members with a distinctive therapy and training experience. Simultaneously, the EGYM ecosystem helps Nick Bol and his team simplify workflows and seamlessly integrate the shift from therapy to active training into the patient journey.
“Our equipment is essential—it’s the tool that enables both us and our customers to work as efficiently as possible. But the key lies in how we use it,” says Nick Bol.
Sustainable success with active therapy
The patient always comes first at MYOKRAFT. Nick Bol positions the company as a dedicated solution provider: “People come to us because they know that MYOKRAFT offers the right solution for their individual problems and helps them achieve their goals effectively.”
Active therapy forms the foundation of MYOKRAFT's successful and sustainable treatment approach. By integrating automated processes that emphasize the MYOKRAFT philosophy at the very start of the patient journey, patients quickly embrace the principles of the active therapy approach.
Empowering personal responsibility through knowledge and technology
At MYOKRAFT, every patient begins with a standardized 30-minute initial appointment. This ensures ample time for a thorough assessment and detailed explanation of the treatment plan. Coupled with the fact that 90% of therapy sessions take place actively in the training area, this approach offers a significant advantage: patients gain a deep understanding of their individual condition and treatment, enabling them to embrace the philosophy of active therapy and apply it independently after just a few sessions.
Strength training with EGYM plays a pivotal role at this stage of the patient journey. “With EGYM Smart Strength, patients can train safely, effectively, and independently, directly supporting their treatment success through strength training. Electronic training is unbeatable in this context: By varying resistance and using different training methods such as 'negative', 'isokinetic' or 'explonic' to quickly set effective training stimuli, we can offer the patient exactly the right training.” explains Nick Bol.
The training empowers patients to take personal responsibility, accelerates therapy outcomes, and helps MYOKRAFT streamline its processes. “We use Smart Strength extensively in both therapy and training because it is not only simple and safe but also exceptionally efficient. This allows our therapists and trainers to save valuable time,” says Nick Bol.
Sustainable Motivation Through Measurable Success
The integration of EGYM Smart Strength offers valuable support to therapists and trainers by providing continuous feedback on patients' progress and development.
Measurable success is a key driver of long-term motivation for patients and members. Tools like the Fitness Hub and BioAge make this success tangible. “With the Fitness Hub, we streamline member onboarding, making it faster, easier, and more efficient. A significant part of our members' motivation and sense of community stems from the BioAge. It shows them that through training at MYOKRAFT, they can positively influence all aspects of their biological age, fostering long-term commitment and independence,” explains Nick Bol.
This focus on independence and motivation—achieved through knowledge-building, process optimization, and the seamless integration of activity into therapy—has proven highly effective. MYOKRAFT sees approximately 30% of patients transitioning into long-term membership after successful therapy, a testament to the success of this approach.
Real results power long-term member acquisition
Patients can become members and train at MYOKRAFT in the self-pay area, either in circuit or open mode. Nick Bol credits the success of converting patients into members to the self-pay area powered by EGYM. In this space, EGYM Smart Strength enables members of all ages and fitness levels to train effectively and safely with personalized guidance.
A significant milestone for MYOKRAFT occurred in January 2023, when the training area expanded from 12 to 18 Smart Strength machines, and Open Mode was introduced. Over just six months, the average age of EGYM users dropped by 10 years as younger members increasingly recognized the benefits of EGYM technology and actively participated in training.
The introduction of Open Mode also boosted the physiotherapy business. Bol noted, "Since Open Mode allows greater flexibility and time for patients, EGYM machines are now used more frequently in physiotherapy."
For Bol, Smart Strength and Smart Flex provide an additional advantage: "EGYM offers a gentle introduction to training, especially for those new to exercise. It allows members to easily start being active while ensuring safe and effective training across the full range of motion."
MYOKRAFT: An innovative workplace
Constantly evolving, Nick Bol ensures that MYOKRAFT remains at the forefront of innovation. As one of the first facilities to test EGYM’s latest advancement, EGYM Genius, MYOKRAFT exemplifies forward-thinking. “We’re using Genius to work even more efficiently by providing trainers and therapists with tailored ideas and suggestions for personalized training plans,” says Nick Bol.
A key factor in MYOKRAFT’s success is its efficient use of resources. While many physiotherapy practices face staff shortages, MYOKRAFT demonstrates how optimized processes and cutting-edge technology can create a surplus of therapists and trainers. Founders Nick and Michael Bol have cultivated an environment that attracts physiotherapists from around the globe, including Austria, Greece, Poland, and the United States. These professionals choose to relocate to Kevelaer to work with MYOKRAFT’s innovative concepts and state-of-the-art equipment. They value the ability to provide personalized care to motivated, self-reliant patients, achieving outstanding treatment outcomes.
MYOKRAFT’s philosophy ensures overcapacity across all areas by integrating EGYM solutions into the patient journey. This approach addresses economic and staffing challenges in physiotherapy with technology, efficiency, and user-friendly, safe operations.
In summary:
Michael and Nick Bol have successfully united therapy and training into a seamless system at MYOKRAFT. Their strategic use of the EGYM ecosystem not only accelerates patient outcomes but also fosters efficiency, motivation, and long-term member engagement.
The result: a flagship model for the healthcare industry and a space where activity transforms into a way of life.
